Holy Rosary Parish uses the process of the Church called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (or R.C.I.A.) to introduce individuals who have already been baptized in another Christian, Trinitarian, denomination and who experience the call to be a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
An individual who is already baptized may fall into one of several categories, e.g. Baptized but not catechized, Baptized and catechised in another tradition, Baptized but not active in one's church, Baptized and active in one's church, Baptized in another denomination but actually attending the Catholic Church with one's spouse as a non-member, etc.
Whatever the circumstances, R.C.I.A. always begins with a time of Inquiry. This is a time to ask questions about the Roman Catholic Church. It is not a commitment to become Catholic. Even as one begins to actually study the Teaching of the Church, one is not obligated. Sometimes people have already made a decision before beginning R.C.I. A. and sometimes this process is part of the search.
